I have had several people ask me how I manipulated the image below of Robert and Rebecca in Photoshop. Although you can produce the effect in Photoshop, this image was not Photoshop enhanced. The effect was created using the old fashioned way, with a zoom lens! I was reluctant to include the image in the proof-set because there is so much blur. But the rose petals in the air are almost tack sharp, while there is varying degrees of blur throughout the rest of the image.
Photoshop is a great tool for photographers, and I use it on almost every image I deliver to clients. But I try to avoid overuse of the special effects. I see a lot of wedding photography web sites and almost every image looks "over Photoshoped," with too many special effects, overlays, and "gee whiz" actions. I like to use these too! But I try to use them sparingly.
The image above was shot about 1-2 seconds after the one blelow. I used Photoshop on both shot to make the colors vibrant.
